Created in 1989 by Oskar Metsavaht, artist, designer and environmentalist, Osklen has been leading the way in innovation in sustainable fashion, is committed to positive socio-environmental attitudes in partnership with Instituto-E*, in favor of sustainable human development, which it does of the reference brand in Brazil and internationally for its authorial style, innovation in design and the use of raw materials developed based on social, environmental and economic criteria, the e-fabrics.
Osklen follows the ASAP – As Sustainable as Possible, As Soon as Possible, which guides the development of projects and products, seeking the lowest socio-environmental impact and reinforcing the need to act today, now, in adopting increasingly sustainable habits and actions.
Osklen’s collections and projects reinforce the union of the pillars of art, design, lifestyle and sustainability, prioritizing sustainable thinking through materials and manufacturing processes with the lowest possible socio-environmental impact.
*The Instituto-E (IE) is a Civil Society Organization of Public Interest that, for more than 30 years, has been developing concepts and practices in sustainable development through its own methodology called Sustainable Design Thinking. Instituto-E develops projects inspired by the 6Es – earth, environment, energy, education, empowerment and economics – in Brazil and abroad, in partnership with institutions such as UNESCO, the Italian Ministry of the Environment, the British Chamber of Commerce of Italy (BCCI), UN Ethical Fashion Initiative, WWF, Osklen, Greenpeople, among others. For the past thirty years, IE has served as Osklen’s internal partner for sustainability – developing projects and solutions to make fashion a platform for transformation.
